Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect only what's needed to run your account and print/email your receipts — your email, the business and receipt information you type in, and a print-credit balance. We never see or store your card details (Paystack handles that entirely), we don't run ads or trackers, and we don't sell your data to anyone. Guest mode keeps everything on your own device until you choose to sign up.

1. Who we are

Thermal Receipt Printer (the "Service") is a web and installable app for creating, printing, and emailing receipts, invoices, and related documents for service businesses, available at treceiptmaker.com. It's operated by ElabbsTech ("ElabbsTech," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

This policy covers the Service itself (the app you sign into or use as a guest). It does not cover information your own customers give you directly, outside the Service — that's between you and them.

2. Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase — your password is hashed and never visible to us in plain text.

Business and receipt information you provide

To generate your receipts, we store the business profile you set up (business name, registration/license number, address, phone number, tagline, and logo) and every receipt you create. A receipt can include line items, totals, tax, payment method and status, and — depending on what you choose to enter — information about your own customer for that transaction, such as their name, phone number, or billing address. You control what customer information, if any, you put on a receipt; the Service doesn't require it.

Payment information

When you buy additional print credits, checkout happens entirely on a payment page hosted by Paystack, our payment processor. We never receive, see, or store your card number, expiry date, or CVV. What we do store is the payment reference and the resulting credit balance on your account.

Support messages

If you contact us through the in-app chat, we store the messages you send so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

The Service stores a small amount of technical data on your own device (in your browser's local storage) to make it work — your light/dark theme preference, an offline queue of changes made while disconnected, and, if you arrived via a referral link, the referral code, until it's applied to your account. We do not use cookies or any tracking pixels, and we do not run analytics or advertising scripts of any kind.

3. Guest mode

You can use the Service without creating an account by choosing "Continue without account." In guest mode, everything — your business profile, item catalog, and receipt history — is stored only on your own device and is never sent to our servers. We have no visibility into it at all. If you later decide to sign up, that local data is copied to your new account and then cleared from guest storage; until that point, it stays entirely local to your device and is gone if you clear your browser data.

4. How we use your information

To create and maintain your account, and authenticate you when you sign in.
To generate, store, and let you retrieve your receipts, invoices, and analytics.
To process purchases of print credits and keep your balance accurate.
To email a receipt on your behalf when you use the "Email Receipt" feature — sent to the address you type in, as a PDF attachment, through our email provider, Resend.
To respond to support requests you send us via chat.
To send account-related emails (confirming your email address, password reset links) via our authentication provider, Supabase.
To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse of the free-credit or referral system.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral or marketing profiles from it.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do rely on a small number of service providers ("sub-processors") to run the Service, each of which only receives what it needs to do its job:

We may also disclose information if required to by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ElabbsTech, our users, or the public.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and receipt data for as long as your account exists, so your history, analytics, and settings stay available to you. If you delete individual receipts or use "Clear All History," that data is removed from our database at that time. If you ask us to delete your account entirely (see Your rights), we'll delete your account and associated data, other than what we're required to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, a minimal payment record for accounting).

7. Data security

We rely on Supabase's infrastructure for authentication and data storage, which includes encryption in transit and access controls that restrict each account's data to that account alone. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't take data protection lightly — payment card data never touches our systems at all, and account access is protected by password authentication.

8. Your rights and choices

Wherever you're located, we extend the same set of rights over your own information:

Access — you can see your own data directly in the app at any time (business profile, receipts, credit balance).
Correction — you can edit your business profile and settings yourself, any time, in Settings.
Deletion — you can delete individual receipts or clear your entire history from within the app. To delete your account entirely, email us at info@treceiptmaker.com and we'll process the request.
Portability — you can request a copy of your stored data by emailing us.
Objection / restriction — you can ask us to stop or limit a particular use of your data by contacting us; since we don't run marketing or advertising, this mainly applies to support-related communication.
Non-discrimination — exercising any of these rights never affects the credits or features available to your account.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is a business tool and isn't directed at, or intended for use by, children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@treceiptmaker.com and we'll delete it.

10. International users

ElabbsTech is based in Ghana, and the Service is available to businesses anywhere in the world. Wherever you access the Service from, your information will be processed and stored on our providers' infrastructure, which may be located outside your own country. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one you live in.

11. Third-party links

Our site links out to a few third-party destinations — our social media pages, a WhatsApp share link, and (for iOS Bluetooth help) an App Store listing. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites; once you leave treceiptmaker.com, their own privacy policy applies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it occasionally.
